Based in North Devon Holms Architects specialise in the residential sector focusing on renovations and extensions, new build dwellings as well as small leisure and commercial projects.

The practice is owned and operated by Christopher Dennis whom after studying at Cardiff University became a qualified Architect in 2009. Since then Chris has gained valuable experience working in London, Bristol and Devon. This experience was further enhanced after completing a master degree in Construction Project Management at University College London. Chris set up Holms Architects in 2025.

Central to the practice ethos is the desire to produce well-crafted and thoughtful architecture with a sensitive approach to its context.
We work closely with clients to deliver buildings and spaces that serve their needs, whilst striving for sustainable outcomes.

Projects
Yellow House
Remodelling of a 1970’s link detached home including upgrading the building services and fabric to meet modern standards. As part of the renovation works the house was flipped with the kitchen, living, dining space relocated upstairs to maximise the views over Croyde Bay
Jubilee House
Renovation and extension of a double fronted detached dwelling to provide an enlarged family home with garage and associated car port. The property benefits from exceptional views over the heart of Croyde and sand dunes beyond and a new layout for the dwelling was proposed that optomised this unique quality of the site.
Prospect Cottage
An extension to the existing property provided an enlarged kitchen, stairwell to the first floor and master bedroom. Bi-fold doors from the kitchen improved connectivity with the garden and bought the outside in.
The project also included a Tree Preservation Order Application and vehicular access off the highway to a new rear parking area.
